My wife Ann and I got to enjoy a few days in Barboursville, VA to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. We stayed in a quaint little cottage on the grounds of the Barboursville winery. Barboursville is a town rich in American history that is fun to explore even if you're not into wine. It rained during most of our visit, but we didn't mind because the accommodations were very comfortable. Our cottage, called Vermentino, was renovated beautifully, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The winery offers a generous tasting experience; however, we both recommend the Library 1821 tasting room for its exclusive wines in limited supply and its unique vertical tastings.
